Royal Air Maroc Schedules Two New Flights Between Morocco, UAE

Moroccan national carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced two new special repatriation flights between Morocco and the UAE in both directions.

Royal Air Maroc flights will serve the two destinations on December 21-22, ahead of the December 23 deadline.

Flights departing from Morocco to Dubai are scheduled from Casablanca’s international airport.

Royal Air Maroc said the flights are “accessible to Moroccan citizens respecting the health requirements of departure and arrival.”

Flights departing from the UAE are scheduled from Dubai to Casablanca and are accessible to all Moroccans stranded abroad.

Royal Air Maroc said Moroccans residing in Morocco who have left the country since October and their accompanying spouses and children are eligible for the flights.

The company also calls on passengers to present their ID card or a passport that shows their address in Morocco at check-in.

Passengers also have to present a negative PCR test taken less than 48  hours before boarding.

On November 29, Morocco suspended flights as part of the preventive measures against COVID-19 and its strains.

The North African country extended its flight suspension until the end of December amid ongoing uncertainty over the recently discovered Omicron strain.

In response, Morocco allowed special repatriation flights to bring back stranded Moroccans abroad.

The government advised citizens stranded abroad to book their return flights before the suspension goes into effect.
