Morocco Confirms 7,002 COVID-19 Cases, 36 Deaths in 24 Hours

Morocco confirmed 7,002 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, latest data showed.

The Ministry of Health also confirmed 36 new COVID-19-releated fatalities in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths due to the pandemic to 15,237.

Morocco also confirmed 8,576 recoveries in the past 24 hours.

The total number of cases confirmed since March 2020 has meanwhile reached 1,114,527, including 1,042,269 recoveries and 57,021 active cases. Of the active cases 739 people are reported to be in critical conditions, while about 138 people were admitted to emergency rooms in the last 24 hours.

In terms of regional distribution of cases, Casablanca-Settat region remains the region that has confirmed the majority of Morocco’s COVID cases. The region confirmed 1,521 cases and 18 deaths in the last 24 hours.

It is followed by Sale-Rabat Kenitra (1,395 cases, four deaths), Fez-Meknes (954 cases, one death), Tangier Tetouan Al Hoceima (919 cases, one death), Marrakech-Safi (681 cases, three deaths), and Souss-Massa (552 cases, seven deaths)

The Oriental region reported 283 cases, followed by Beni Mellal Khenifra (252 cases, one death), Draa-Tafilalet (127 cases), Guelmim Oued Noun (118 cases, one death), Laayoune Sakia El Hamra (116 cases), and Dakhla Oued Eddahab (84 cases)
